2. Bank erst jumpen??

    Hallo habe einen ThinkCentre IBM S51 mit Win XP SP2, 2,66 Ghz, Intel celeron D und in einer Bank 512 MB DDR2-400 ECC / Reg./ CL 3 , PC-3200u , 184 Pin, Motherboard von IBM ( laut Everrest)

    Möchte nun gern Arbeitsspeicher mit 512 MB nachrüsten.

    In die 2. freie ( gelbe ) bank sollte nun ein techn. gleichwertiger 2. Riegel. Aber nach dem einstecken piept der Rechner nur u. fährt nicht hoch. Habe beide Riegel in den Bänken getauscht u. das piepen bleibt. Habe nur den Neuen in die (schwarze) Bank gesetzt und der Rechner funktioniert. Also am neuen Riegel kann es nicht liegen, sondern eher an der derzeit freien (gelben) Bank.

    Muß die 2. Bank erst aktiviert werden oder so??

    Hilfe wäre echt nett.

    Also momentan haste ja wie gesagt 512 MB ram und auch 4 Slots - Ich würde dir hierzu raten, einen "Doppelpack Memory" kaufen dann haste auch wirklich das gleiche - anscheinend war der neu gekaufte nicht vollkommen gleichwertig wie der alte - Kann das sein ?

    Zu Anfang hast du geschrieben, dass da ECC-RAM drinn ist. Dann müssen beide Speicherbausteine auch ECC unterstützen.
    Oder falls du RAMs ohne ECC einsetzen kannst, müssen alle Speicherbausteine nonECC sein.
    Eine gemischte Bestückung ist keinesfalls möglich!
    Übrigens handelt es sich DDR-RAM, nicht DDR2.

    na so ein Mist,

    ich hatte die Daten des eingeb. Speichers notiert und danach neuen gekauft. Auf das ECC habe ich nicht geachtet. Mir war das DDR 400 CL 3 , PC-3200u , 184 Pin wichtig, wie es auf dem alten Riegel stand.

    Ist eigentlich die Reihenfolge der Bestückung der Bänke immer noch wichtig? Denn wenn ich den alten Speicher in die gelbe, sonst unbenutzte Bank setze, geht der Rechner ja auch nicht an.
