Neuer Arbeitsspeicher, aber keine neue Leistung?

Ich habe längere Zeit 1GB DDR 400 RAM gehabt und hab mich kürzlich dazu entschlossen, mir mehr Arbeitsspeicher zu kaufen. Da ich viel mit Grafikprogrammen etc. arbeite und mein PC doch ein wenig langsam wurde. Habe mir also nochmal 2GB Corsair DDR 400 Arbeitsspeicher gekauft, eingebaut - danach einen 512 bei mir raus und die beiden 1GB Blöcke bei mir rein. Insgesamt komme ich nun auf 2,5GB Arbeitsspeicher. Nur leider merke ich davon GAR NICHTS! Unter "Start - Systemsteuerung - System" werden mir die 2,5GB angezeigt, muss ich sie noch irgendwo anders einstellen oder irgendeine Datei beim booten ändern?

 

Einstellen musst du weiter nichts. Du solltest vielleicht mal testen, wie viel Speicher dein System überhaupt benötigt, z.B. per Taskmanager.

 

Weg mit dem 512MB-Riegel. Dann klappts auch mit dem Dualchannel.

Es sei denn, das geheime Mainboard unterstützt das nicht.

Der Chipsatz unterstützt Dualchannel.

Hab im Handbuch dazu nichts gefunden, und wenn dann übersehen.
Aber bin der Meinung, dass es das nicht unterstützt.

Habe mal gehört, dass der höhere Arbeitsspeicher an Steckplatz 1 sollte - ist da was dran, oder wäre das egal?

Da steht alles schön da. Vor allem in Bezug auf Single Sidede und Double Sided Riegel. In etlichen Konstellationen wird der RAM dann nur mit 166/333MHz befeuert.


Abgesehen davon, merkst Du eigentlich nicht viel von dem "Mehr" an RAM. Es handelt sich hier um Sekunden, die irgendwas schneller lädt.

Normalerweise wird ein PC langsamer, wenn er mehr zu tun hat. Sprich, es laufen mehr Programe zur selben Zeit. Verseucht?

Mach das mal. Und schau auch gleich nach, welches Programm am meisten die CPU fordert.

Alternativ wäre auch der Process Explorer hiflreich.

Hallo,

ich habe das gleiche Problem wie Darkfox.
Bei mir vorher 1GB RAM (2 x 512MB). Jetzt aufgestockt durch zusätzlich 2 x 1GB auf 3 GB.
Und ich merke nichts davon.
Hatte mir insbesondere bei Spielen (Flugsimulator, RCT3 etc.) weniger ruckeln versprochen.
Muss ich irgendetwas einstellen oder woran kann es leigen, dass ich keine Veränderung zu vorher merke?

Beide Festplatten zu stark fragmentiert? Es hätten ruhig ein paar Partitionen sein können.
CPU zu warm(steht ja nicht da)?
Alter Grafikkartentreiber.

Was is, wenn nur die 2 1GB-Riegel drinn sind?

 

-Festplatten nicht zu stark fragmentiert.
-CPU Temperatur nicht zu warm laut dem Programm motherboardmonitor.
-Aktuellster Grafikkartentreiber
-wenn nur beide 1GB Riegel drin sind, das gleiche Problem > merke keine Veränderung

 

Dell bietet Kingston an, als RAM Erweiterung. Was hast Du dir besorgt?
